If you weren’t in San Antonio, you missed a ton! Here’s a quick recap.
We kicked off with break out trainings both Wednesday and Thursday. All attendees received product training and business growth training specific to their level in the company, providing them with the most beneficial information to grow their business in the upcoming months.
The General Session on Friday and Saturday featured several product announcements including 5LINX Commercial Energy, TextAlertz®, Android Apps for GLOBALINX® and more. You can find additional info about these and all our product announcements under Point 2 of this edition of High 5.

Our contests just keep getting better and better! Never before have we awarded a prize like the Platinum Lifestyle Trip Getaway. All attendees were given FIVE chances to win a vacation worth up to $10,000! After one winner was drawn, the excitement in the room was so powerful that it inspired Co-Founder Jeb Tyler to draw a second name! Each winner will be able to plan their dream vacation! After these winners were announced, Jeb closed the event with phenomenal business-building promotions including a special attendee only promotion never done before. - Every Swipe Counts
Amazing news announced at the San Antonio National for Every Swipe Counts. The first 100 accounts that go active after 9/10/11 will be eligible for a $100 bonus to the reps who obtained the accounts. - Business Elite Services
What a great response from everyone to all the exciting changes coming to Business Elite Services that we announced at International Event. Starting in October we have a new and improved overage plan for all customers using their text marketing service. We will be charging just $15 per each additional
keyword and $25 per each additional 1000 messages. What a great deal! This will not only benefit the customer, but is a great way for you to earn more residuals each month.
Starting October 1st, the CV for Business Elite will be $10 a month, but all active accounts prior to that date will be grandfathered in at the current CV of $15. 5LINX RAISES $14,000 FOR TWO CHARITIES IN SAN ANTONIO
At every International Training Event, 5LINX chooses a local charity to support. We ask attendees to make a donation which the corporate office then matches. This event was no exception, with a little twist.
The bulk of our donation went to The Fund for Isaiah. This fund was established to help support the three-year-old son of Devin Kusse, a beloved corporate employee who tragically died in an accident prior to the event. Thanks to the generosity of the 5LINX family, his wife and son will now be able to stay in their home and live a better life.
The balance of the donation was given to the Fisher Houses of San Antonio. This organization helps the families of America’s wounded warriors be close to each other at a time when it is needed most. 3. Product Spotlight
Effective immediately, “Every Swipe Counts” has a new and improved order hotline. We invite your prospects to sign up for the “Every Swipe Counts” program directly by calling 877-494-9335. The toll-free order line is specifically for you to call in with a merchant who is interested in learning more about how we can save their business money by reducing their credit card processing costs.
We have made significant enhancements since the program launched back on February. For one thing, calls will be first answered by a live “concierge”, who will gather some important information from the merchant so that they can be directed to a representative who can best meet their needs.
You no longer need to fax in a merchant statement (though you are welcome to still use that process if you wish). All you have to do is call in with your merchant and we will take care of the rest.
Please note, however, that the 877-494-9335 line is NOT for you to call in without a merchant to ask questions or check on the status of an order. You should direct those inquiries to Rep Services, or to our special “Every Swipe Counts” support team at everyswipecounts@5linx.com.

I heard a great quote yesterday: “The price of FREEDOM isn’t free.”
This of course was said in the context of honoring the sacrifices that the men and women who have fought for our country have made. Indeed, there is no greater sacrifice than giving your life in service to your country and all of us at 5LINX are both proud and humbled by the commitment made by our military personnel and their families.
However, we must never forget that all of us must also pay a price for the freedom to live the lives that we dream of living. Whether that price be in sacrifices of time, hobbies, money in the short term, or in some cases even in relationships of “friends” who prove unsupportive of our vision for something better, everything worthwhile has a price. Our job is to make sure that we focus on the fact that, while it is not always easy, paying that price will always be worth it! Best of luck in your business!
The Fight for Numbers
It seems today that many people in the social media world are fighting for numbers. We are not talking about numbers in the monetary sense, but about the number of social media fans, friends, followers and connections each of us accumulate through our social media channels. You may think that the more fans, followers, etc. that you have, the better and more successful you will be with your business on social media. Unfortunately, a skyrocketing number of people liking your fan page or following you on Twitter does not mean that you have jumped a hurdle for your business in the social media world.
There are over 1.8 billion Internet users worldwide and it is safe to say that not every single one of them will be a fit for your business. You need to make sure that those who are connecting with you and those that you seek to connect with through social media are connections that can be mutually beneficial. This sounds simple enough, but how do you really know who the right people are? Here are the TOP 5 things you can do to make sure your connections are the most worthwhile for you and your personal business success.
1. Don’t let everyone in. Check their profile, interests and other connections first. Make sure this connection isn’t spam or someone who is aimlessly adding people to the network. On the contrary, you should be seeking out through google search, social media websites, twitter applications and other tools to find those groups that you have interest in and to find the right people to network with. Networking will not just come to you, it has to be worked for!
2. Manage your network. Make sure you are aware of all your connections. Up until now have you connected with everyone you have added or those who have requested you? Be sure that you aren’t hanging on to deleted profiles, spam pages and irrelevant connections that can hinder your ability to network productively through social media.
3. Start a conversation. Build a relationship and find out what each of you are looking for with social media. You never know if that person is looking for an opportunity exactly like the 5LINX Business Opportunity or if they know someone who could be a fit. Be sure though, to build some rapport with those connections before you throw out your business opportunity. Make this about networking and friendships before you make it about your business because no one likes to get hounded immediately about work.
4. Join groups on your social network. Personal or business, you’ll always find like-minded people discussing topics you’re passionate about. You can easily build relationships, share interests and common knowledge with people who have similar interests.
5. Expand your scope to outside customers. Find a new network of prospects through those whom you sell 5LINX products. We do want to promote the business opportunity heavily but don’t forget there is an entire product/service based market out there that you can network your way into and eventually, inevitably gain some new friends, prospects and leads.

How to Make a Video In Just Minutes!
Hello Everyone! I apologize for the lack of posts we have had here, this upcoming National Event in Atlantic City in May is going to be a record breaker and we have all been working hard here at the corporate office to make sure it’s the BEST EVENT YET!!!Don’t forget to register if you haven’t already, it’s going to be life changing!
So on another note, today I wanted to talk a little bit about videos and YouTube. We have been helping you use social media for a few months now and everyone seems to be networking and connecting very well! Now the 5LINX Facebook page has taken off and we see many of you participating on it, but have you considered using YouTube too? YouTube is an easy and FREE way to spread knowledge and information over the Internet and with recent advancements of technology, it has become even more quick and easy to create videos for you and your team online!
You can create testimonial videos from you and your team, or announce an event you are hosting or attending and explain a little bit about it (BOM, Super Saturday, Regional etc.) Don’t forget that creativity will get your video going viral, so we encourage professional creativity! Just don’t forget to mind the 5LINX Policies & Procedures regarding internet marketing, advertising and social media when creating your videos. Here is a step by step process to create a video in just a few minutes on your YouTube account!
Step 1: If you are not yet registered on YouTube, go to www.YouTube.com and register, or sign in if you are already a member.
Step 2: Click “Upload video” and you will see an option to either upload an existing video from your computer or camera, or now you can even record a video right then and there from your computers webcam!
Step 3: Once recorded, you can embed your video in your own blog or website (keep in mind the Policies & Procedures) or you can simply upload it to your YouTube page or channel.
Step 4: Enter an engaging title, something that will draw in your prospects or create interest for your team. Make sure to keep in mind that titles like “Make Money FAST!” tend to be associated with scams or illegitimate companies so be sure to create professional, engaging titles with true meaning! Also be sure to write a description that describes your video well so that when videos are searched in YouTube and through search engines, your video will show up most relevant to your topic!
Step 5: You are done! Promote your video to your team for educational use or even use it as a tool to impress prospects or those currently outside of the company.

Be A Goal Getter, Not A Goal Setter!
The New Year is an exciting time of beginnings and leads many of us to set goals for various aspects of our lives. It is very important in your goal setting that you focus on many of the points we have already discussed (ie. Begin with the end in mind, have a larger vision, etc.). However, achieving your 2011 goals will likely be most dependent upon you not falling into the most common trap that ensnares new year goal setters: setting huge, aggressive goals with no strategy by which to achieve them.
Think about it – Your current strategies have gotten you where you are. Why would you believe that the same plan that got you where you are will double or triple your business in 2011? That’s the proverbial definition of insanity: “doing the same thing and expecting a different result.” So, in order to GET something different (your big goal), you have to DO something different (your strategy). That is how you become a goal GETTER, not just a goal SETTER, in 2011. Good luck!
The Little Things Matter!
My friends and family have always told me that I wasn’t the best at responding to them, whether through texting, e-mail or returning their calls. I am a busy guy and when a message is received I tell my self I will respond to it soon when I have more time to commit to a conversation or more meaningful response. In all honesty that decisions is always made with good intentions each time, however I usually don’t respond until days later and sometimes I don’t respond at all.
These calls, messages, e-mails are nothing urgent or life altering, they are just little invites, questions or prompts that would be nice if I responded to. You think nothing of hitting the ignore button on these messages, these people know you’re busy or that you just aren’t good with responding with technology in general and the message isn’t the most urgent thing in the world anyway, but do you realize the impact this makes on your network of friends and family over time?
More recently, I have started to realize that everyone knows that I have a lack of responsiveness when it comes to texting, personal e-mails and phone calls. There are no immediate negative consequences associated with my lack of responsiveness so it is easy to lose yourself in a busy, non-responsive schedule. However now it was starting to show that these people, as close as they are and as much as we share together, do not see my responsiveness as reliable in certain respects. This is not something you want to let yourself fall into, especially if you are building your own business with 5LINX.
You NEED to be a reliable person for your team, fellow colleagues and your downline. You have to answer, you want these people to be able to rely on you as a trusted resource for knowledge, help and information through out the entire process. Communication is key when building a business and creating a solid network of people you can trust and share knowledge with, so even putting the little things aside for later with seemingly no immediate consequences can add up and really have a negative impact on you and your business.
So one of my new years resolutions is to work on my communication skills when it comes to personal e-mail, texting and phone calls in my personal network of friends and family. Make sure you haven’t fallen into this type of ritual, be honored that you are being contacted and thought of, even if you are just getting a forwarded e-mail from a friend.
Make sure you are thanking that friend for thinking of you, that they know you appreciate their time to send you an e-mail and keep those people as close as you can! It may not seem like a big impact immediately, but in the long run it could really change things. There are so many little things that can get lost in our busy schedules, and this is one of them. Be reliable, be respectful and don’t forget that the little things matter!

Persistence!
Today’s tip is taken from the famous Calvin Coolidge quote that ends ‘persistence alone is key.’ You will have many setbacks during your 5LINX career, particularly in the early days as you go through your learning curve. Nothing worthwhile is mastered overnight & this business is no exception.
My network marketing career is characterized best by the phrase ‘Do it wrong enough long enough and you’ll eventually figure it out!’. As you begin to develop mastery, your success will increase exponentially. But you must give it time to happen. So remember, while everyone looks for the complicated & magical success system, in reality nothing is more important to your success than simply sticking with it!

Don’t Depend on Encouragement!
Many new 5LINX reps and emerging leaders as well end up very discouraged because they don’t get the support they anticipated, even from some of the people who will benefit from their 5LINX success. While you should always expect support, because we most often get what we expect, don’t depend upon it.
To quote a modern-day classic film, in “The Matrix,” Morpheus says: “You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged…and many of them are so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it!” So just know that 90+% will never get what they want out of life, and despite that, will fight to maintain the status quo. You can’t expect those people to encourage you or even understand your desire to have, be or do more. Just use their negativity as motivation. When you succeed, they will come around – everyone loves a winner!
